The ruthless wave of the nature, crawled ever so relentlessly to consume all that came in it's way.
It was a reversal of the way things used to be...the world turned upside-down; ships pushed into the town and houses and cars being carried out into the sea. There seemed to be no demarcation between the land and the terrifyingly gaping mouth of the ocean.

A whole thriving, and one of the most modern cities in the world...destroyed, swallowed...this is what Tokyo is today; nothing but rubble and wreckage after the worst earthquake-followed by-tsunami strike on 11 March, 2011. This is the worst crisis faced by Japan after WW II.
Tokyo...that enjoys the status as the world's most technologically advanced city wasn't able to ward-off Mother Nature's fierce blow. The ferocity of the Nature, once again, reminds us about just how vulnerable and dispensable we are. The ferocity that cruelly separated a child from it's mother; a husband from his wife. It's horrifying to watch the world collapse around you, isn't it?
When there are such heart-rending scenes of the Japan's tsunami-earthquake being aired by the news channels...I find myself watching the cricket match between Bangladesh and England and cheering team Bangladesh to win. Does that make me despicably insouciant and heartlessly apathetic?
That thought made me pause...but the next moment I caught myself thinking that, this catastrophe would have made a great movie! What is wrong with me???
Anyway...there are scientific reasons that explain all these catastrophes, yes...but there are also some philosophical questions that keep nagging at us. Some think that these disasters are occurring because of the alarmingly increasing rate of sins in the world. There is also the eschatological writings(Hinduism, Christianity, Buddhism, Zoroastrianism, Islam, etc have their own versions) , of 'End of World' , of the 'ultimate fate of humanity', to consider. Is this a signal to the end of the world, of humanity? What can be done about it?
Nothing much, apart from being strong, it seems.
